Good, no, Great news – Flamerule 24th 14826ddb2dd14ff092b79151f18de87f H 76/L 56 Winds out of the north at 25 mph, ¾ of an inch of rain.

The day starts out as a gloomy, rainy day. Thoughts of what this Dreadlord Burukhan might be up to puts you on edge. However, late in the afternoon Captain Dominic calls out that a rider approaches. The rider has brief words with Dominic who turns and calls out for all to gather in the courtyard area. The well dressed messenger dismounts and pulls forth a scroll from his vest.

"Message from the High Lady Alustriel of Silverymoon, Guardian of the Silver Marches."

The messenger pauses for dramatic effect.

"Good people of Rockhammer Hold; you have moved me by your unselfish acts in rectifying the situation in the nearby thorp of Temel. Your valiant efforts and generosity have saved these good citizens from certain peril with no benefit to your own. I, along with every law-abiding citizen of the Silver Marches, offer this small stipend as a monastery repayment for your actions of recent, along with a few minor items that may help in your constant vigil against those who wreak havoc along the Everlund Pass. In the future, if you ever need assistance from me, please do not hesitate to ask one of the Everlund Pass patrols to get word back to me."

The messenger rolls up his scroll and tucks it away. From his saddlebag he pulls out a sack of coins and hands it to the nearest person.

"3,000 gold."

He then unloads another bag from the horse and dumps the contents on a nearby table. Included are:

+1 Longsword
+1 battleaxe
+1 longbow
+1 ring of protection
+1 cloak of resistance
(5) potions of cure light wounds
(1) potion of invisibility

You all stand around in awe of the wonderful gifts you have received when the messenger continues in hushed tone.

"High Lady Alustriel has placed a bounty on the orcish shaman Thar Grim-Rule. A good reward for his death, and a most generous reward for his capture." he says with a wink.

The messenger mounts his horse, "Any questions before I leave?"

"I have no questions, however please tell the High Lady that we are most grateful for her kindness. I hope she will consider us in the future on any venture that would involve protecting the Marches."

"Will do, citizen," the messenger says with a nod before riding off towards Silverymoon.

DM Note - I've added all the money to the Vault for now. Let me know if those individuals who put in personal money are going to get repayed so I can get the Vault total corrected. Also, I assume I should add the magic items to the Vault as well, unless there was going to be some picking through them.

I'm not concerned about the money, but I suggest we pay Dain and his Stonebreakers for their work, as I don't recall if that was ever settled. Fantastic news, by the way.

They, the dwarves working on the quarry, have already been paid through the completion of the wall. When you get to a point where you are selling store for profit, then they will get a cut of the profit rather than a monthly wage.
