After spending the night at the first inn you found within the walls of Overlook you get up and head straight for the High Hall to speak with the Council of Elders. You enter and find the young dwarf, Elder Cadrick, looking over maps of the region along with some advisors.

You recant your story and along with Kalad’s input, you assure the dwarf that the Nexus is sealed. “By Moradin’s Beard! I think you just saved the day!”

The Elder walks you over to the maps and begins to explain, “You see, Bordrin’s Watch is a very defensible position in the mountains, as it has been for the dwarves for centuries. Our biggest fear here in Overlook was the orc army pooring through other openings and running rampant through our lands. Now, their army will be forced to go through Bordrin’s Watch, and there is where they will die.”

Cadrick smiles and walks over to a desk to retrieve something. He holds up a box the size of cigar box, made of fine mahogany. “These were made ahead of time for the late Glorious Defenders, part of their…negotiations, but you are the saviors and heroes of Overlook today, and they belong to you.” He opens the box to reveal six silver broaches, all in the shape of dwarven shields. The words “Warden of Overlook” are etched in gold.

“Oh, and something else for you,” Cadrick returns to the desk and grabs a bag of gold for you, “There you are, your reward of 2,500 gold pieces”

Cadrick holds out his hand with the bag of gold, waiting for Umberto to take it.

Umberto grins as he takes the bag of gold, but pauses. A look of hesitation comes over his face. "How many dwarven families will go without or could be feed and protected with these funds? How many more could we conscript in this ensuing war? We have a keep and incomes, this money should towards your efforts in protecting your people. I only ask that we are to have the grace of your camaraderie."

Bastion will give Umberto a LOOK that says, 'Smooth ninja, smooth. You are one badass pimp.'

Cadrick’s eyes widen for a moment as he clutches his beard, after dealing with the Glorious Defenders you are a welcome change for the dwarf.

“Well…that is just grand friends,” he holds the bad of gold up, “this will go to good use, that I promise ye.” He says with a wink. “These, I insist that you take. You’ll carry a the bit of clout you no doubt deserve.”

Cadrick walks over and pins the broaches on each of you, “If you don’t mind, I’d like you to stay in Overlook for a couple of days. We might be having other need for you before this is over. Sound good?”

"We will stay. Thank you Cadrick."

Cadrick smiles and gets back to work. The Heroes of Rock Hammer head back to the inn for some well needed rest.
