Calendar Highlights - Eleasis 1372 (August)

Eleasis 1st through the 2nd – These two days the group spent underground on the Barrow of the Forgotten King adventure. Three things of great importance transpired. Vadania died and was lost to the party, but they did run into an NPC named Leera who was an unwilling participant of Xeron’s party for a brief period. She since joined the Lords and was officially hired by Hasimir later.

The second was the climatic ending that saw the group finally catch up to Xeron and defeat him and his minions. The interesting part was that one of his henchmen was Syvgar, the half-orc sent to spy on the Dreadlord. Syvgar reported that he did indeed join with the Dreadlord but only saw him once during a very hazy, difficult to perceive if it really happened, ritual. Syvgar woke later under the rule of Xeron who was dispatched by the Dreadlord to retrieve something (Merthuvial) from these tombs. Syvgar was completely done working with these guys but Umberto was able to talk him into continuing his mission.

The third was a gift from the long-dead king of his weapon; a black longsword with special powers called “Merthuvial” to Umberto, and he has been charged with defending these mountains against all aggressors.


Eleasis 3rd – After a short celebration in Wageton the night before, the group headed back to the keep. Tatyl took her leave and returned to the Enclave, thanking the group for allowing her to tag along. After recapping what happened to the citizens of Rock Hammer, Lander Timmons approached the party with an ominous warning, fearing that the Dreadlord might come after all of us.


Eleasis 4th through 10th – Reports from all for the past week:

• Althalus – The people of Temel are still nervous about an attack from the orcs. Met with Lane the Hermit and Senesus of the Elven patrol and she spoke of an alliance of some sorts between orcs and human mercenaries south of Cholnudon. They wore red-and-gold insignias and had the look that they were preparing for battle. The fey-ri ruins were partially blocked off, not far from the surface, by some mysterious blue wall.
  
  
• Hasimir – was introduced to the group by Captain Ensyer who found him along his patrol path just outside of Cholnudon. The half-elf had just finished making a delivery to Everlund and was looking for work. Hasimir mentioned that he had run into some shady individuals in Everlund that wore the red-and-gold insignia.
  
  
• Umberto – while the store in Wageton has been doing well, our employee Jeffery had an interesting customer. This gentleman who looking to purchase large quantities of two-handed weapons in bulk. He also wore a red-and-gold insignia. Lastly, a coordinated strike with Captain Aito against the ogres was in the works.
  
  
• Kregnok – saw to the improvements in outfitting the guards here at the keep. Also, he steps down as president of Rock Hammer and turns it over to Umberto for the time being.
  
  
• Panian – reported on his scouting for the week and discovered that the hill giants were definitely gone from their cave and the former bugbear camp was lived in recently. The elf also produced evidence that it was the Broken Tusks orcs that stayed there for a few nights.
  
  Last, Umberto breaks everyone up into two teams to look into the matters of the Dreadlord and the orcs, putting the red-and-gold insignia on the back burner for now.
  

Eleasis 11th through 14th - individual reports for the past three days:

• Umberto – travelled to meet with Hinnar of the Red Wizards enclave, she thanked him for allowing Tatyl to join their latest adventure. Umberto asked about any information regarding the Dreadlord and the Broken Tusks. She said the first time she heard about the Dreadlord is when Horace Danim came by during the course of his search. The Broken Tusks have been a subject heard of quite a lot lately as people from Temel have been by searching for something to protect them from an attack by the orcs.
  
  On the way to Silverymoon Umberto officially hired Marina on to his team. The next couple of days were spent trying to talk to local officials to learn anything. While there the news arrives, Temel has been sacked!
  
  
• Hasimir – and his group runs into the unfriendly Captain Kremmel on the way to Silverymoon. Leera, recently hired by Hasimir, claims she say Captain Kremmel before but cannot place it. Tian makes a return to the Magician’s Alliance where they want her back. She thanks them but says she wants to stay true to the plan and build the arcane center still. A description of the red-and-gold insignias seen in Everlund reveals that they are officers, glorified tax collectors, of the Keeper of the Bridge, a man named Malvin Draga. Moments later, news arrives about Temel.
  
  
• Althalus – after officially hiring Lander, heads out with Panian top Temel. The citizens are still fearful of an attack but Mayor Droverson and Evan Barksdale keep their spirits up as best they can. Next they head over to visit with Lane the Hermit but find him away. He left a note on his door that he left for Temel, following a hunch. As they returned to Temel they run into a refugee from the village and hear the news about Temel.
  
  
• Kregnok – stayed in the keep and worked on producing more goods. Officially hired Kelser at this time.

Eleasis 14th – The group just learned that the village of Temel had been overrun by orcs, and everyone made a mad dash back to Rock Hammer Hold. As they return they see that their home has been swamped with refugees from Temel. Surprisingly no casualties reported.

Later, Evan Barksdale (priest of Helm in Temel) arrived and he said that Thar Grim-Rule destroyed his temple and kicked him out of town. Evan also reported that he saw the Hermit after the attack, still hiding in Temel.


Eleasis 15th – Captain Ensyer arrives to check on the status on the people from Temel. You were all surprised to learn that no retaliation was forthcoming from Silverymoon, they were only sent to do a recon on Temel.

Althalus, Hasimir, Umberto, Panian, and Leera go with the captain to check it out. Everyone was surprised to see that hill giants were under the control of the Broken Tusks orcs. Also, they witnessed the placement of the new sign to Zeth’Gor indicating they would be charging a toll to pass through. Captain Ensyer and some of his men actually go into the village and take a look around. He reports seeing four hill giants and at least 40 orcs as well as a pen of worgs. He also reported that they seemed organized and disciplined.

Umberto, Althalus and Hasimir set out for Silverymoon.


Eleasis 16th - Umberto, Althalus, and Hasimir head out to Silverymoon for answers regarding the Broken Tusks claim to Temel. They make friends with Valamros a high ranking city official and they met Taern Hornblade, High Mage of Silverymoon. Taern was the person who signed off on the bill and is the person responsible for Rock Hammer receiving a stipend from the High Lady of Silverymoon.

Taern informed the group that Nolan Cromwell of the 7th Ward pushed his bill to him to sign, but it was designed to aid the Gilshire Halflings just north of Silverymoon who were overrun by humans using their land as a personal hunting ground. Taern does agree that Silverymoon should assist the Temelites financially. Taern essentially hires the PCs to investigate this further.

Eleasis 17th – Umberto, Althalus, and Hasimir (while in Silverymoon) go to question Nolan Cromwell of the 7th Ward. Along the way Althalus runs into a former co-worker of the Happy Endings Parlor, asking if he has seen Chantal as she has gone missing.

Upon finding Nolan and asking him about the Gilshire Halflings, he was dismissive at first and then fled in fear. Umberto was able to talk him down and tell them what happened. He mentioned a name, “Bezias” who promised to take care of everything.

Nolan had a session with Chantal, who mysteriously dropped dead after. Bezias appears and offered his help to disappear the body. Days later he returned and asked to push this bill on behalf of the Gilshire Halflings, which he did. He realized something was up when the orcs attacked Temel. He also mentioned that Bezias smelled of sulfur.

The group returns Nolan to Taern and he and Valamros are caught up to speed on what happened. No more information could be learned regarding Bezias so Taern asked the group to look into the Hall of Records.

It turns out that Chantal has a session with a clerk named Randibald who stamped the official territorial rights document stating the orcs had a historical claim to Temel about a month ago. It turned out the records are correct (verified with Waterdeep), that an orcish warlord battled a lord human King Theron (the original owner of Merthuvial, no less). This was all retold to Taern and Valamros that evening.


Eleasis 18th – Umberto, Althalus, and Hasimir returned to Rock Hammer from Silverymoon. Along the way they met Geni Varren of ExoGeni Exports who asked about situation in Zeth’Gor/Temel. She informed them that many merchants will be camping out in Rock Hammer instead of the former Temel.

The Lords received a note from the Hermit hiding in Temel. He informs them that a tiefling is/might be behind the Broken Tusks Orcs in Temel.

The Temelites had to be calmed down when they saw Gravaar. Umberto appointed Kevian Droverson as Mayor of Rock Hammer Valley (excluding the keep).

Eleasis 19th – Horace and his knights of Tyr arrived and wanted to set up camp. Umberto informed them that they can be guests, but the Lords are the Lords. Horace asked details about the adventure in Wageton (Barrow of the Forgotten King), specifically what the Dreadlord’s men might be up to. He decided to stay when he heard Umberto recovered Merthuvial.

Eleasis 20th – Three recruits from Wageton showed up, Troy (paladin), Delek (monk) and Janar (ranger). Troy and Delek were hired. Bad feelings from Janar.

Eleasis 21st – Valamros, city official in Silverymoon and friend of Rock Hammer, stopped by the deliver on the promise of gold from Silverymoon (5000 gp). Janar was about to leave when Umberto confronted her again. Eventually Umberto learned that she was sent by the Dreadlord to spy on the valley and he was using her captured daughter as bait. Marina and Leera were assigned to keep an eye on her. Kregnok (played by Sam) officially hired Troy Percival and Umberto did the same with Delek.

Eleasis 22nd – Evan Barksdale approached the Lords concerning the building of a Temple of Helm being built in the valley. Umberto agreed.

Eleasis 23rd – Tian Serpenthelm asked Umberto about building an Arcane Learning Center in the valley as well, which Umberto agreed to as well. Umberto also brought up the idea of eventually charging a rent of some sort in the future to these types of tenants.

Eleasis 24th – Captain Aito arrived to start the joint operation with Rock Hammer to eradicate the ogres nearby. Hasimir went along with Kelser, Otihand, and Marina. It was Hasimir’s tactics that led to easy victory over the ogres. Later that night the Temelites were up in arms, confused how an attack could easily be carried out against the ogres but not the orcs who took Temel. Mayor Droverson and Umberto had to calm the crowd and Umberto won them over by giving them a lions share of the money appropriated from Silverymoon.

Eleasis 25th – Umberto makes the official announcement to the Temelites about the stimulus checks they are going to get.

Eleasis 26th – Drek, underling to Mr. M of Cholnudon, arrives unannounced at the keep demanding to know where the shipments of poison have been. When told to hit the road, Drek makes a threat concerning the shipment of stone to Sundabar. Captain Kremmel makes his first official stop at Rock Hammer and the Lords learn, from Mayor Droverson, that the Captain has received numerous “bonuses” most likely from Cholnudon, and that he apathy for his job rose at the same time.

Eleasis 27th – Free day for the Lords. Umberto works with Delek, learns the “pet” spider may not be trainable, and sees that with the renewed interest from the Temelites, building production is through the roof (haha). Hasimir learns the Temelites feel much safer here in the valley, especially when the wall in almost completed. Janar is told what to say in her note to the Dreadlord. Althalus has received word from Syvgar, the spy in the company of the Dreadlord.

Eleasis 28th - The outer wall near the Everlund Pass is finished, enclosing the Rock Hammer valley. Hasimir leads the first convoy of stone to Wageton and he and his crew are attacked by bandits who strangely knew exactly what they had and where they were going. Hasimir defeated them and took the stone to Wageton.

Later that afternoon, Valamros, the city official from Silverymoon, arrives and informs you that you are now in control of the Everlund patrols and Captain Aito, Ensyer, Thulver (new), and Kremmell will report directly to you.

Eleasis 29th - Senesus arrives at the keep looking for Althalus. She wants to know the last time he has heard from Lane the Hermit. She is concerned that no word has come from him in ten days so a rescue party is organized. The group will enter the underdark, through the Fey'ri ruins (Kotror) leaving the following day.

Eleasis 30th - The group enters the tunnels and rescues a near-dead fey'ri who was killed by a drow leader named Niadirem. The Fey'ri tells them to get past the blue barrier and enter Temel to go to his village and help them as they have a runestone that can bypass the blue barrier. The group does and returns to this stop and bypass the barrier. In the next room they run into Niadirem and his drow men planning an attack on Temel. He seeks to capture Thar Grum-Rule and an alliance is formed. Everyone heads to the surface, Lane is rescued, and the group makes haste back to Rock Hammer.
