Underground - Eleasis 1st

"Yeah, I have to agree with spit boy here, that is not a good idea."

Aye. How are we to believe ye won't walk up to him and say "Oh by the way, these fine folks have come to kill ye, ye mind if I help?

Karjuk shrugs his shoulders, "Or I can just leave right now. It's up to you. The area is desecrated by now, so have fun with those undead in there."

Karjuk starts to walk off. (towards rooms you've already been in)

"Sooooo......what are we doing?"

Watching Karjuk trudge off, at the moment. But, that can only last so long.

We need a plan. And if possible, we need a rest period. I'm not sure about fine young Tatyl, but I cast quite a bit against ol' Karjuk, and I'm a bit low at the moment. Otherwise, we'll have to take pains to be careful, using the health potions we've discovered carefully, and making sure to withdraw when appropriate. Karjuk stated that the area will most likely be defiled or corrupted at this point, giving any undead strength, and causing us weakness of some sorth, so that's another thing we'll have to overcome.

Any suggestions?

Karjuk stops at the door and just as he is about to exit the room he turns to you. "Listen, if you need a place to rest, we had a camp on the surface. I can call off the runehound Xeron left to guard the place and you can rest there before proceeding."

Very well, Karjuk. We will escort you to the surface, and make one last trade. We'll trade voucher for your safe passage through the town in exchange for the dismissal of the wards placed in your camp.

Unless there are objections?

Garjuk leads you back to the ruined looking room with the rope ladder. "Let me go first" he says. You shrug your shoulders as the ascends the 200 foot rope ladder back to the surface. As you poke your head above the surface you see Garjuk motioning you to stay back.

A hairless, houndlike creature emerges from the underbrush. It's pale skin is covered in runic patterns and is glistening. Sprouting from the center of the creature's back is a serpentine neck supporting an eyeless head that is mostly a toothy maw too big for the creature's body. Its squealing turns to a gurgle as it begins to fill its maw with green bile.

Garjuk shouts at the creature, you can't tell what he says. Soon the creature lowers his head in obedience. Karjuk points to the trees and slowly the runehound wanders off, away from the area.

You pull youselves up from the rope ladder and finally breathe in fresh air for a change. In the middle of this dense underbrush and forested area is a huge statue. Overgrown with vines, it depicts a crowned and beared man who is regally dressed and points his drawn sword to the east. Some trees nearby are taller than the statue, which has no inscription that you can see.

"Well, you'll be safe here" Garjuk says with a smile. "Anything else before I leave?"

"No Garjuk, I think you have done plenty. Fair travels to you sir."

Garjuk smiles, "Good luck to you as well", and he wanders off into the wilderness.

So...camping for the night? Anything else before we fast forward to the next day?

No, I think that will be all, but we should establish a watch.

No problem.

You get a good night's rest and are thankful to get away from the dark, dank dungeon for a few hours. Morning comes are you are well rested and ready to go.
