Underground - Eleasis 1st

Althalus ducks into the room with a “WTF” look on his face.

Kelser shouts “Undead!” and takes a 5-foot step forward an attacks a before unseen undead zombie (Zv). The undead varag is no match for the barbarian’s strength as Kelser’s blow (critical) drops the creature immediately to “orange”.

Five foot step to I-14, and a swing on Sargus.

I think I need a ruling on this from the other DM. Or former DM I should say. Can Kregnok take this 5-foot step across the corner of a bad guy? It seems like you can't but I can't find any rule for or against it.

Never mind, on page 144 of the PHB it clearly shows a five-foot step across the corner of a bad guy. Game on!

Swinging then! *insert appropriate Dwarvish battle cry here*

Kregnok slides over and takes a swing on Sargus (Sv), and the elusive varag easily dodges it.

Vadania squeezes past Althalus in the doorway and takes a position near the east wall where she casts a spell and a flame appears in her hand. She hurls it at Sargus (Sv) scorching him in the back, dropping him to “Lime”

Round Two

Sargus (Sv) deftly tumbles past Umberto and ends up behind the monk. His scimitar slices across the back of Umberto, dropping him down to “Lime”

Krusis (Kv) steps out from the inner ways, thus setting up another flanking maneuver with his cohort. His scimitar strikes true and Umberto is now down to “yellow”.

As you can see I've, once again, made changes on how the battle map works. I made bad guys into squares and good guys stay as circles. Your health condition will be the color of the inside of the circle or square. This makes it a little easier at a glance to tell good from bad.

Umberto will move to K-14 and take a swipe at Sv

Umberto slides out of the flanked position and misses his attack on Sargus.

Tatyl darts behind the interior wall and it’s hard to tell where she is but you think she is trying to flank Krusis and Sargus. You think it might work as they don’t seem to notice her yet.

Round Two

Althalus is up.

Althalus draws his longsword, takes a 5ft step to M13 and swings on Sv.

Althalus draws his weapon and steps up to take a swing, but Sargus easily dodges it.

Kelser smashes the varag zombie again, taking him down to “Red” in two hits.

Round Two

Kregnok is up.

Kregnok will swing on Krusis.

Kregnok swings on Krusis and misses again, letting out another dwarven curse in the process.

Vadania reloads another bullet and whips her sling at Sargus, and amazingly, hits him, but it does minimal damage.

Round Three

Sargus ignores the recent damage and tumbles past Umberto and Vadania to end up against the wall. He takes a swing at the monk, just misses him with his scimitar.

Krusis, of course, takes a 5-foot step and has Umberto flanked. His strike is true. Umberto is in dire straights as he is down to “red” now

Umberto is up.

The monk will use the last of his strength to tumble back to N14, disengaging from the fray

Bleeding from several wounds, the monk dives back toward the doorway to seek help.

Which perfectly sets up Tatyl move. The red wizard runs into the fray casting burning hands on Krusis and Sargus. Krusis seems to seffer more from the attack than Sargus, but they are both in the "orange".

I forgot to color in the sqaure that Tatyl was in (its the white square), so pay no attention to it)

As Umberto passes by, Althalus will take a 5ft toL13 and swing on Kv, careful not to slip in the monk's trail of blood.

Althalus slips past the monk and takes a mighty swing at Krusis, nearly missing but still drawing blood from the Varag.

Kelser lifts his greatclub once again, and once again it comes crashing down on the varag zombie killing him for good. (Hey, guess who never put the varag zombie in the initiative order). From here Kelser moves up to help with the other two.

Kregnok will flank Krusis and swing

*Ahem*

Kregnok will flank Krusis and swing mightily upon his unprotected back.

The dwarf steps up and after two misses, he connects with his heavy mace, nearly splitting the beast in half. Krusis lets out a groan before dieing at the feet of Kregnok.

Vadania reloads another bullet in her sling and lets it go. Again it hits Sargus. Vadania does a double take on her sling, amazed at its sudden accuracy (she rolled back-to-back “20’s” in the last two rounds, but didn’t do criticals on either). Again, minor damage.

With growing anger Sargus growls and drives his scimitar at Vadania. The room gets dead quiet for a moment and you strain to see what transpired. Vadania, with her eyes wide open lets out a slight gasp. Sargus slides the blade out of her chest as the druid collapses to the floor.

Fittingly, Umberto is up.

With a cry of fury the monk leaps into the fray with a vicious flying kick

Umberto issues a war cry and dives back into the fray. His kick, like his love for Vadania, is true and immediately drops Sargus down into the “red”.

Tatyl wisely takes a step back, removing herself from the fight.

Round Four

10 – Kelser & Kregnok

Althalus is up.

Althalus takes a swing on Sargus!

Althlaus swings and misses.

Kregnok is up!

Kregnok will defer to Kelser.

Kelser raises his weapon above his head and unloads it on the cornered varag. His attack is true and the creature slumps to the floor.

With all three of them defeated, you can now catch your breath.

Here is the room description again:

Ancient frescoes decorate the walls of this room, which might be octagonal. It’s difficult to be sure of this from your vantage point because walls partition the room. The art is not of the sort customary for a king’s tomb. Each of the interior walls that you can see shows images of men and women of many races carousing in a tavern. The outer walls near you depict a gold dragon defeating a red dragon. To the right and left are statues, one in the image of a beautiful princess and the other shaped like a knight ready for battle, sword raised and shield readied.
